1988
Humble beginnings
MSC began with a small van operating from a shed, built on practical service and close customer relationships.
Our story
The story began with Maintenance Services, a contract cleaning business founded by Ken Kennedy and later led by his son-in-law Lionel Osborne. While serving national high street customers, Lionel saw that clients also needed a simple, dependable source for toilet rolls, soap and cleaning chemicals. That supply service grew faster than the original operation.
In 1990 Lionel and Lynn Osborne formed The Maintenance Supply Co Ltd from an old cow shed at Codham Hall, near the M25. Codham Hall remains MSC's home. The operation expanded from one converted unit into larger storage buildings, purpose-built offices and the present Brentwood facility.

1990
Lionel and Lynn Osborne formed the company after demand for reliable cleaning consumables outgrew the original contract cleaning operation.
1995
MSC joined Jangro, combining the buying power and product access of a national network with independent local service.
2011
Growth at Codham Hall led to a modern 24,000 sq ft Brentwood facility, followed by a second depot in Feltham.
Today
MSC now supports customers across the UK with stocked products, specialist advice, training, digital tools and tracked delivery.
Generational leadership
Ross Osborne joined in 1997, working through the warehouse, deliveries, order processing and accounts before establishing the Workwear Department. He took over the day-to-day running of MSC in 2010, bringing a modern and sustainability-led approach.
Kelly Osborne joined in 2001 and became an integral part of the accounts team. Max Osborne joined in 2010 after professional cricket and developed the Workwear Division into one of MSC's most successful departments.
The Jangro advantage
Joining Jangro in 1995 gave MSC access to strong supply chains, exclusive product lines and deep industry knowledge. Customers get the buying power and breadth of the UK's largest network of independent janitorial suppliers, delivered with MSC's responsive local service.
